SIGNIFICANCE
Ultramarine blue and Air
Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue represents the sky, the
primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the
excellence required of Air Force personnel. The divided background with
the globe represents the 5th Combat Communications Group’s worldwide 24-hour operational
commitment. The lightning bolts radiating from the sword and extending over the
horizon and the stylized aircraft symbolize the combat communications and
navigational support and radar control mission of the group.
